You Light Up My Life

Morning all!

I have been working on a client's basement bar project. I'm working on choosing pendant light fixtures to hang over the bar. I need fixtures that are small in scale and don't take up much visual space. The area will be mostly dark wood and there isn't much natural light. We are going for the dark, mainly, pub feeling in the space. While the fixtures need to be unseen so to speak, they still need to provide ample light for guests.

I love these because of the height. We are also working with a bulkhead in the space, so height is also a priority when choosing the lights.

These found on Etsy are the perfect industrial type look that could work in the space. They are small in scale and would compliment the area visually. My worry with these is the glare they may cause. The last thing you want is your guest be blinded by the light when trying to enjoy their beer. Buzz kill!

I'm loving the minimalist design of these fixtures. Once again, the glass takes up little visual space and the contrast of the minimal fixture would be great with all of the trim work planned for the space. Again, I'm worried about glare from this fixture, also, I'm not sure without more research the amount of light this piece would give off.

This fixture from Ballard Designs is gorgeous. The style and shape are perfect and would help spread the light to cover a larger surface area. It's simplistic yet would make a nice impact in the space. The height may cause a problem for this particular room.

And the last fixture, also from Ballard Designs is different than all other fixtures chosen. This is the most similar to the pendants shown in the very first picture. The shade would prevent the glare I was worried about with the other fixtures, and it would also compliment other elements in the room (i.e. the copper tiled ceiling and the neutral wall color I'm proposing). Again, my only concern with this piece is the height.
